Baptism 8x4in-01

Baptism is an important part of the journey of faith. We often describe baptism as an outward expression of an inward reality. It is an opportunity for an individual to make an outward and public declaration of his or her faith in Jesus.

In the Christian rite of baptism a believer intentionally identifies with the death and resurrection of Jesus. The act of going under the water is symbolic of death and burial, while being raised from the water symbolizes resurrection -- the old person is being buried and the new is being raised to life.

Anyone who has responded to the Gospel offer of forgiveness through the atoning death of Jesus Christ and desires to make that known to his or her church family is eligible for baptism at North.
